This is the 8th annual Run for Rett Syndrome: Remembering Breanna Leatherwood. This run is being held to raise awareness of Rett syndrome. Rett syndrome is a developmental disability that primarily affects girls, causing loss of motor skills and the ability to talk. Their health is quite fragile, resulting in seizures, difficulty with breathing, chewing and swallowing. Daily challenges are faced by those affected, as families struggle to ensure that health and educational services are provided.
